MY FRONT DOOR

BY JOHN REDDIN

If my front door could talk to me
Then what a session that would be

I'd hear about the "Rings" and "Knocks"
I'd hear about the kids with rocks

The hawkers and the beggars too
And also of a cop in blue

The Salvo's and the Mormons ring
Jehovah's Witness - "Lord is king!"

Save Koalas. Save the whales
Pamphlets telling me of sales

Boy scouts ringing, "got a job?"
A burglar nearly broke the knob

Mother-in-law came by today
And left with no good words to say

What a strange world it would be
If my front door could talk to me.
